Daily UI

2017

Challenge accepted

Practice makes perfect, so multiply practice by 100x. My goal with Daily UI was to take risks and think outside the box, by applying a UX approach to UI design. What products/experiences with poor user interactions could be improved through an upgraded visual design? It’s the Daily UI challenge, with a UX twist.

Background
Daily UI is a 100-day challenge to encourage all levels of designers to improve their visual design. Learn more at dailyui.co

Details about all of the Daily UI challenges are below.

012 E-Commerce Shop

Problem
Bed Bath & Beyond's website is a mess

Obstacle
Don't erase the current brand with a website redesign.

Solution
Add more negative space, focus on individual items.

011 Flash Message

Problem
Flash messages usually don't provide next steps, regardless of being an error or success message.

Obstacle
Everlane's visual style of minimalism requires attention to detail.

Solution
Provide next steps or update users with the status of where they are in the checkout process.

010 Social Share Button

Problem
iOS share button isn't social-appropriate. Too minimal.

Obstacle
Keeping the minimalist design while incorporating something fresh.

Solution
Incorporate a bigger arrow that hints toward exporting out of a screen.

009 Music Player

Problem
The iPad app for Noon Pacific doesn't match the website (both style and functionality).

Obstacle
Keeping current minimalism design while integrating new features.

Solution
Match current website experience but remove extraneous information for the iPad-only experience.
