The Salt Lake City region is known for its wide streets, low density development, and beautiful mountains. The increase in public opinion for public transportation has been two decades in the making. In 1999 the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) launched its first TRAX (Light Rail) route in the greater Salt Lake City area. In order to strengthen the existing transportation networks and increase the intensity of development within the regionfive emphases should be made given the current situation in the region.
